Even the Northmen hated the weather.
Robb cursed to himself, tugging his coat tighter around him as he manoeuvred the streets he knew so well. Christ, the wind was biting. Weather to reflect his mood it seemed, how fitting. With every passing minute, the weight on his shoulder seem to deepen. His brow furrowed with the insistent tugs of duty and honour.
Times came in which he longed for an escape. If only he had not been so bloody highborn, was no Stark. Perhaps then he would have been able to trudge along like the average man. Find a 9-5 job and buy chips on the weekend. Be normal, for Christ sake, not worry about when the next confrontation would be, how much preparation would be required till then and just what old alliances still stood.
He had quickly learned that even old friends had limits to their loyalty.
With a sigh, he huddled further into himself, cigarette dangling precariously from tightly pursed lips. He didn’t have time to fucking brood on how much he wished his life was different. He had family to protect, sister to bring back home. To hold in his arms once more and keep them safe from bad dreams to evil men.
Had he been any better mood, he would have laughed at his own family’s words. Winter wasn’t coming. It was here.
Jon pressed himself against the wall of the nearest building, looking around at the strange surroundings. He had no idea what had happened, where he was or why he was there. He had been at the Wall, on patrol with Ghost. Now though… He was suddenly on what appeared to be a road, Ghost snarling beside him.
He saw a shape moving in the darkness; he pressed more against the wall and gripped the hilt of his sword tightly. He didn’t know if the figure would be friend or foe; but it was always best to be prepared.
He stepped out of the shadows and in front of the swiftly, drawing his sword; Ghost by his side. But he froze when he saw the man’s face, recognition and shock clear.
He couldn’t believe that his brother was here; in this strange land.

“Jon…Is there a reason why you seem to be attached ..almost literally to my hip?”
“Ummm… Well… I’m not entirely sure.” Jon chuckled awkwardly. “But on the bright side, like this, I can make sure you don’t get into any trouble…”
“Me? Get into trouble? As I recall it was always me who was bailing you out of mischief as a child!” He tugged on the rope playfully.
Jon nearly snorted and tugged on the rope right back. “Your memory is skewed, dearest brother. You were always getting into trouble; I was just the one getting blamed.”
Robb laughed loud and long. “You are right, dearest brother,” he said with as much mischief in the last two words as possible. “Who could blame this face, really?” he asked pointing to his own smiling face.
Jon laughed and shoved Robb lightly, stumbling as their binds pulled at him. “I suppose that’s true,” he chuckled, shaking his head.
